Sunday

18.8.19 - Rounds 4 & 5 took place on Sunday at 10.00 and 15.00. Results are here for U16 and here for U12.

 

Later there was a second series of Masterclasses with the Professionals.


 


Saturday

17.8.19 - Round 3 took place on Saturday. Results are here for U16 and here for U12.

 

Also on Saturday there was a Rock Tour and/or Leisure Centre visit followed by an Evening Simultaneous.


Friday

16.8.19 - Rounds 1 and 2 took place on Friday. Results are here for U16 and here for U12. Later there were be Masterclasses with the Professionals.


Thursday

15.8.19 - An exciting and busy schedule yesterday, Thursday, with the arrival of many more players and families to Gibraltar. Later there was the traditional Meet and Greet Reception followed by the ever-popular Evening Blitz at around 18.30.

Seawave Beach Blitz

The 4th Seawave Beach Blitz tournament took place on Wednesday 14th outside the Seawave restaurant in Catalan Bay, just a few minutes walk from the Caleta Hotel. This was a perfect warm-up tournament for the Festival and was lots of fun!

 

Results: 1st= Kuzhelev Timur 1713 RUS, 5/6; WFM Cramling Bellon Anna 1905 SWE, 5/6, 3rd= Howell Oliver W 1553 ENG 4½/6; Greco Joseph 1660 GIB, 4½/6; 4th= Shepherd Tom 1569 ENG 4/6; Howell Matthew G 1566 4/6; Bekkari Nassim 1669 FRA, 4/6 ... 26 competitors. Final Rankings and Crosstable.

Free buses in Gibraltar

Young chess players and accompanying family members at the 2019 Gibraltar Junior International Chess Festival will receive free bus travel around the Rock, courtesy of the Gibraltar Bus Company Ltd., during their stay.

 

 
 
   

Please present your pass (received at the time of registration) to the driver when boarding.

 

The Gibraltar Bus Company Ltd., wholly owned by HM Government of Gibraltar, operates several routes around the Rock.
